The basic ACU should be woven in Kevlar or a stronger ballistic fabric to stop smaller shrapnel from entering the body as well as protecting him or her from scratches, scrapes, and cuts. We should be moving to full body protection and as close as we can get to a Halo type suit. I think the biggest problem is really IED's and the concussion. That pressure wave will rip through the body and turn your insides to mush. Its a scary thought.
